Many opportunities are available for the youth and adults to contribute to the worship experience through music.
FAITH's Senior Choir leads the 9:45 AM service in song each Sunday and also sings at major non-Sunday services such as Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday. The choir is open to all singers aged 14 and up and rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:30 PM to 9 PM, from September through early June. New members are always welcome; in addition, each Advent and Lent, singers who may be unable to make a long-term commitment to the choir are welcome to join the "Faith Festival Choir" in preparing music for Christmas Eve and Easter, respectively.
The adult Handbell Choir rings four-and-a-half octaves of Schulmerich handbells and four octaves of Malmark handchimes. Music is presented to the congregation once a month and on special occasions. They rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 6:45 PM to 8:15 PM from September to mid-June. All high school students and adults are welcome to join this group.
Children's Chimes is open to all students in grades 2 through 8 and does not require prior musical experience. The group plays three octaves of Malmark handchimes, and rehearses on Thursday evenings, from 6:45 to 7:30 PM, during the school year. The handchime choir performs in worship once a month and provides an opportunity for children to learn basic music literacy skills.
The Praise Band leads the 11:00 AM contemporary worship service during the school year. Keyboard, guitars, drums, and singers create the backdrop for a more casual atmosphere than the earlier traditional service settings.
FAITH is blessed to have many members of our congregation that are willing to share their musical talents. These musicians contribute to the worship service throughout the year. The summer months are an especially good time to enjoy the special music since the choir, handbells, and chimes are not active during this time.
